XF Cluster Probs - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hey All,

I have an XF with a standard GL cluster installed... last night i was driving and suddenly i lost all my gauges and indicators... the flasher unit works cause i tried the hazards... the clock still works if i push the clock button, and the light still comes on in the dash when the lights are on... any idea's???
its as if the gauges arent getting any power... like the car was off... very weird..

help would be great and it would be so much better if it was soon...

Check and see if the plug is in the cluster properly. Take the plastic bit that has the switch panel on it and surrounds the handbrake off. Then just above the handbrake you will see two plugs leading into your cluster. Make sure that both are in extremely tight. If that doesn't fix the problem, check your fuse's on the fuse panel while you have the switch panel bit off.

If this doesn't work... take it to an auto electrician.

could be your alternator...
when mine went in my xe, i had no guages, brake lights, indicators... only thing was headlights, horn, and stereo... i cant remember if my windows worked too..... but this was in the middleof the city, and i had to goto dandynong.... about 30 or 40 kays away, on a friday night... lucky i didnt see any coppas
