Hiyas again....more XF questions :)

Was checking the car's computer on the weekend and it was giving a fault code of "22". Looking up the fault code lists, this is apparently a fault with the MAP sensor. Trouble is, I have the '86 EFI 4.1 engine and it doesnt have a MAP sensor (???)... well I couldn't find one, and the Hayes manual didnt reference one either for the EFI. I cleared the codes and retested, but the "22" was still coming up. Could I be looking at the wrong code lists? I got them from the Auto EMF website - the Hayes manual didn't mention a code "22".

Where the hell on the wiring harness is the diagnostic connector for the computer???? I looked for ages and couldnt find it! I managed to test the computer anyway but I wasted a good hour....

After all this, I did have a win - got the car idling properly by checking all the vacuum hoses, esp. the thin, plastic ones that run off the vacuum vent and solenoid to the EGR valve, etc. So good to come to a stop at the lights and not have the car shudder to a halt.....

The MAP sensor is the gadget that sits on the firewall passenger side. It's got a green plug on the bottom connecting it to the loom. Even carby XF's (unleaded only) have them.
