Re: XY dash custom

try

www.narva.com.au

they have pictures and part numbers for all their bits . and they have lots of bits.

if you find what you need , just take the number to a parts shop and get them to order it.

http://www.justmustangs.com.au/.
Go to this site and post a question to Marshall. He is a hotrodder from way back, and his latest piece of art involved fitting AU XR8 drive train, DASH & steering column to a 1966 Mustang convertible. The stuff looks like it belongs there.
There was a lot more to the project than I have mentioned and I strongly recommend you get in touch with him.

Re: XY dash custom

I have a big NARVA catalogue and got all my bits out of there. As mentioned, there's quite a selection.

Are you after the pull type XY knob switches? There's not a great deal of those, but plenty of lever type conventional ones.

Here's my new switch panel with narva switches and pilot lights to indicate various things.

Depends on how crazy you're going with keeping any original parts etc. I also used a modern flush type rotary headlight switch from an EA or AU?? can't remember.

You would think so, but I think it is turning out really easy.

The general guideline is: - no cutting the original ZD body - except for the hole for the floor shifter - safety desision due to crappiness of Column shifters and their ability to be knocked from Park to Reverse easily...

To get that dash in there took about 1 hour:
cut plastic dash shorter with hacksaw
Remove part of foam on RHS of crashpad
drill holes in plastic dash to pick up the original dash mounting screw holes

Looks like the ZL electric swing vent is going to fit through the original stereo mounting hole

Need to find an A/C Evaporator unit that will sit up under the dash and feed the swing vent and down to the centre console to do the back seat
