Re: Engine idol
I'm here in hope I can help solve everyones problems or atleast shed some light.. I'm a mechanic and work for a very reputable firm :)
I would suggest having the vehicle put on a diagnostics followed by an auto electrician checking the vehicle over for any wiring breakages.
It could most possibly be the idle control valve but then ask yourself, how does that effect the petrol/cruise lights?
All of which can be effected by your engine management ecu - before paying out for any repairs.. i'd suggest having the following three tests done to save yourself some money:
DIAGNOSTICS - from auto electrician
WIRING BREAKAGES - from auto electrician
ECU TESTING - from an ecu specialist i.e. ECU Exchange who do ecu testing/repairs and exchanges (it only costs £50 to test and better then spending £100's to then find out it was the ecu all along).
Their contact number is 0208 853 5000.
Hope this helps mate,
Goodluck!
