Recently I replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and basically everything clutch related in my Girlfriend's pickup. What task that was. Now, for whatever reason, the speedometer isn't working. It was working before the replacement. Afterwards, I discovered the cable between the Post Catalytic Converter o2 Sensor and its associated coupler had been ripped out by the drive train.

Are the Speed sensor cables and the o2 sensor on the same circuit? Is the VSS dependent on the O2 sensor being in working order for everything else to work? I've run myself up a wall trying to troubleshoot this.

I discovered that something has to be working. ...I made the mistake of leaving the VSS unplugged the other day while I was trying to troubleshoot. I hopped in the truck, went down the block, and when I got to the stop sign the truck died. ...That means the thing is working. So what's left to troubleshoot? Is there something behind the dash I should check into?
