AUS: Mazda's Record Breaking October
Mazda Australia has posted its best-ever October retail sales result, recording 3603 sales last month.
Mazda was buoyed by strong sales of the stunning Mazda6, which with 897 sales gave the company its best mid-size market segment result since February 1993.
Of the Mazda6, 383 sales were for the range-topping Mazda6 Luxury sedan or Luxury Sports hatch models.
The Mazda6 result was 50 per cent up on the company’s monthly target for its all-new model, which is available as a sedan, hatch and wagon.
The 323 range was the company’s best seller with 1483 sales, the car’s best ever October result.
Overall, Mazda sales have reached 31,811, an increase of 3128 or 11 per cent on the same time last year.
Mazda is now poised to pass its record-breaking 2001 retail total of 34,126 sales this month and is expected to sell close to 40,000 vehicles for the year.
The managing director of Mazda Australia, Malcolm Gough, said: “The appeal of the all-new Mazda6 and 1.8-litre 323 from $19,990 have delivered another record-breaking month for Mazda.
“The instant success of the Mazda6 gives us great confidence that the all-new Mazda2 due next month and our flagship rotary-powered RX-8 that goes on sale in July next year, will create just as much excitement in the market.”
