Hey guys I have not been on in a while, but I still have my Ford Probe V6 for a daily driver and I got me an 1989 RX-7 Turbo II to play around with. Let me know if you want to see pictures. I was just wondering if these cars were popular in Ausland and if there is any good aussie rx-7 performance related websites - I know how good you aussies are at tuning rides so hook me up!

RX-7s, and rotaries in general have a very strong following in australia. Lot's of guys buy a EFI turbo rotory and stuff it into a light mazda ute or RX-2-4. Some of these things really fly, with street driven cars getting into the eights down the quarter mile. If think the quickest rotor in Aus is a series six (?, don't know my RX series to well, whatever the sexy curvy ones are) that runs in the sevens, but this is not a street car.

I don't know any websites, but have a look on http://board.performanceforums.com or just ask someone there and they'll put you right.

You could look at www.rx7.net.nz although it's dedicated to the
FD3S (and the site design is somewhat questionable) you may find some info on the FC3S...

Yeah mate I have a very high respect for RX-7's. They go like stink and don't rely on Plastic Fantastic to look good. It's very easy to get 400BHP from an RX-7. Definately post some pictures and send me a PM so I can't get your ride on my site.

Check out Driftworks.org because they have alot of information on modding up Japanese cars and it's a Perth crew.

Rotors are different but I have a high level of respect for them eventho I wouldn't own one. I saw the Rotor Master car run a 7.5 second pass at Adeliade this year - Respect.

What I think I really respect is the actual Mazda motor company, and the balls it would have taken to develop the rotary, and to keep making them through the years even though there was problems runnings against them for a while there. The risk of making this motor is/was great and Mazda took it, and ended up with being the only maker of rotaries now.
