MySP23

Hi,

I've been waiting for my Mazda3 SP23 since June and it finally arrived on Friday. I'm really happy with it except for one thing. The dealership rang me to ask me if I wanted after-market cruise control fitted because the genuine units had been recalled by Mazda and won't be available again until Feb/Mar 2005. I didn't want the after-market because it would be on a stalk and not on the steering wheel.

Has anyone else heard of this recall? Anyone know what the problem was? I'm pretty sure other SP23 owners have mentioned that they got cruise on their cars.

I ordered a Mazda 3 Maxx Sport with cruise control. Car arrived and was told Mazda werent doing Cruise Control on any Mazda, factory or after market. This explain why!

We got a recall notice in the post from Mazda Australia, well they didn't actually say it was a recall but a technical service bulliten or some crap like that, anyway they have had problems with cruise obviously.

We had to send a card back stating if we has cruise fitted or not and if it had been fixed by the dealer yet

We didnt order cruise, so no probs for us

We are waiting for cruise on our SP23 as well, but wasn't told Feb/Mar 05 though, I am going to have a big go at mazda on Monday.

We've just ordered our SP23 (to be built on Nov 8) and we've been told that cruise control will be back on the market as an option on the SP23 from Jan / Feb. Apparently it was a $550 ish.. option until the fault was detected.. When it comes back on it will be cheaper (so they say) than $500 and your local Mazda dealer will happily retro - fit your existing SP23.
