It's the end of the line for Mazda 626 and Mercury Cougar

Friday, Aug. 30, was the final production day for the Mazda 626 and Mercury Cougar, both built at AutoAlliance's plant in Flat Rock, Mich. The 626 began its production run in 1989, and 926,674 were produced. The Cougar was introduced in the 1967 model year, dropped in 1997 and reintroduced for the 1998 model year. Since then, 235,028 Cougars were produced.
