Simply the Best
Mazda has recorded its best-ever month with sales breaking through 4000 for the first time in June.
With strong sales across the range, Mazda notched up 4118, an impressive 100 per cent increase on the same month last year.
Mazda Australia’s previous best month was June 1994 when it sold 3588 vehicles and the Mazda brand hit 3716 sales in June 1981. At that time vehicles were sold through a number of state-based independent distributors.
The 323 range contributed 1165 to the total, its best-ever month, while the B series range also had its best month on record with 811 sold.
The all-new Tribute 4WD wagon continued its strong sales push with 798, its best result since it was introduced in February. Its previous best total was 681 in April.
Of the other Mazda models, the 121 (with 408 sales) and the 626 (454 sales) recorded their strongest months this year, while the SP20 hot hatch contributed an impressive 189 to the 323 total.
For the first six months of the year Mazda’s sales total 17,597, an increase of 32 per cent or 4301 vehicles on the same period last year.
The managing director of Mazda Australia, Malcolm Gough said: ``This is a great result and we are particularly pleased to see that the sales increase is reflected across the range and not just concentrated on one model.
``However, the Tribute with its broad model range and mix of four and six-cylinder power has obviously struck the right note with buyers looking for a spacious and versatile 4WD wagon’’, Mr Gough said.
``The popularity of our `Zoom-Zoom’ campaign, which is already one of the most recognised on the market, also contributed to our success’’.
Mazda Australia expects to sell more than 34,000 vehicles this year, a substantial improvement on last year’s total of 27,505.
