Miata may be next up for MazdaSpeed treatment; Protegé version gets mild facelift

The 20031/2 MazdaSpeed Protegé gets a nip and tuck.
What’s the next MazdaSpeed product going to be? We thought it might be the 6, but Mazda recently made a lame attempt at being coy with the following information: It will be a two-seater, open-topped, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive thing. Hmmm, which Mia... er Mazda might that be? No word on timing.
Meanwhile, the 20031/2 MazdaSpeed Protegé gets a mild mid-model-year facelift with changed front and rear fascias, a revised rear wing and a couple of new colors available. The front end also has big, fat breathing holes for the front brakes in the space formerly occupied by the fog lights.
