I have 1994 Ford Crown Victoria P71 package. i just bought it under a month ago, from the local police. i has 115k miles on it and today coming home from work, it like, fell apart. my check engine light turns on and my trans just started slipping on shifts, so i check the fluid, its orange and smells burnt. i know what this means. but the confusing one is, my left hand turn signal flashes EXTREEMLY slow. both bulbs are functioning, does anyone know if this is some kind of electrical problem with these vehicles? the switch feels weird when i push it down it has a clicking noise that sounds like its breaking, where as the right signal is working correctly as well as the 4-ways.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Besides the trans sounding like toast you probably have a bad ground on the one side. Instead of trying to find its connection just run a jumper off the bulbs ground. If thats not it then the power wire is probably corroded or maybe the bulb connection. Check the connection first.
