just wondering about the 3rd row seating, when not in use does it reside under the floor or is it just laying forward...asking because in the brochures it is shown folded forward but i remember seeing a movie on the ford page where a woman pulls it out of a floor cavity...?

Yes it resides under the floor. Seat base slides back into the rear cavity (used as a wet storage area in 5 seater). This makes the space for the 3rd row seat back to fold down flat.

thanks for the quick reply...i have ordered the 3rd row but couldn't work that bit out.....

I have found that this storage area is still usefull even with the 3rd row not in use and occupying the cavity. It can still hold small items such as a wheelbrace and overalls, picnic rug and chamois. At least that's what's in mine. Oh and the red handles for retracting the seat base make perfect spots for holding a golf umbrella and to stop it sliding around.
