I've heard rumours (from a friend of a friend (who works in the factory) that a 6 speed auto is due out in September. Anybody know anymore about this? I'm ready to get a Terri in the next month but may consider waiting till Sept if there was more substance to the rumour. I don't really want to wait that long though.

Yes, it has been reported in the motoring press, it's a ZF 6-spd as used by Jag.

It may not initially be fitted to all models however. It may limited to just Ghia or AWD models or AWD Ghia, no one knows for sure. It may not even go into the Territories at all but be for FPV and other top end models.

I'm guesiing you'll see it in at least 1 or 2 Terri models though before the year is out, but do you really want to wait that long?
