I'm not sure about the Adventra, but I recall some engineer from HSV stating that their version of the Adventra was purely an experiment and the amount of sales (which prove to be shitful) was not an issue.
At least one thing comes out of this, and that everyone with blue blood can sit back knowing the battle between these two cars has a clear winner.
I know a few articles stated the sales aim for Adventra was around 500 per month, I don't think they could be making much profit selling around 200, though I haven't heard much on the sales of Avalanch, but can imagine it is pretty bad as i have never seen one on the road over here.

The competition being rolled out is Territory, a vehicle that simply has Holden bamboozled. It cannot figure out how Ford can make a profit from a $500 million investment when the sales rate is about 25,000 per year. Holden insiders are convinced that there’s more to the Territory business plan than Ford is revealing, possibly an export program.
Also it states Holden is in a bind for the next generation vehicle where they want to do a proper SUV and a traditional wagon but can't make a business case for both - I would imagine the same situation would exist at Ford...
I was keen on getting a new Frontera until they dropped it and feed the Commodore station wagon some steriods. They (GMH) are moving away from the user market. Really why would you spend $55k plus for a ugly wagon or even the same for a four door V8 Ute?
Holden still offer the Rodeo, which mind you is still the pick of the three (in my opinion) if you can get past the commercial look and feel..
It would be very interesting to see how the new Rodeo sales figures are perfoming against both the Crewman and Adventra. Then compar the total sales of all three with the Territory.

That is interesting...i suppose the $500 million invested in Territory may not necessarily be just for the Territory, as components such as the AWD technology and EBD etc will be incorporated into Falcon variants too
Maybe the testing for territory has extended beyond series 1, such as series 2 deveopment, turbo model and power limits of drivelines?

It would be great if there was a turbo diesel option being also developed as this engine could be put into the ute if the Federal government follows through with its planned LPG tax increase, killing this market.

Does anybody know what sort of average profit margin in % terms Ford would expect per vehicle ? Got me wondering how long it would take to pay off a $500m investment.
