After 1 week

Tomorrow I have had my TX RWD for one week

I have never been a family car man with a string of hot falcons and off road Jeeps, but this car has it all for what I need at this point in my life.

Really glad I got the fog lights and colour coded bars as I think this really makes it look finished and very smart looking car

After 500Klms in the 1st week the trip computer is showing the avg fuel consumption at 12.9, most of this came from a trip up the F3 to Nelson bay and back and is better then I expected and hope it only gets better. (I always use 98 ron premium anyway so I think this may help a bit)

Set the cruise control and this is a great car to knock over the klms with the famliy on board. It is too easy to speed as it is quiet and smooth but I can live with that :)

The dealer still has to fit the towbar which the screwed up and didnt factory order and now are waiting for the stock so they can fit it :(

My rear bar as a mark on the paint that I pointed out at delivery so we will wait and see how that goes

The one that really has me worried is at very slow speeds going over bumps as I go out driveways etc I get a groan from the back of the car almost like body twist groan/creak I will get the dealer to check it out and see what they make of it

These are only small anyounces and I am sure will be resolved in due course and still hasnt taken the smile of my face when driving

Here is to getting past the 3000klm service so I can start to give it a good leg stretch and see what she can really do

specs.

Sounds good

Make sure you have a good talk to the dealer about that tow bar. The factory fitted unit is has the cut outs done from the inside of the bar before installation & looks very different to a aftermarket fit.
If you ordered a factory one make sure you get some garantee of fit quality.

Have a look at a factory fit unit.

Do they actually do anything at the 3000km service other than a visual check and address any issues the owner has?

I was told they plug into the diagnostics to check everythings as it should be.

I have investigated this (factory vs dealer-fit) with my dealer, and was shown both versions. The job they did was as good as the factory, as they have made themselves a template, and use an air nibbler to do the cutout - result was a very clean, straight and fitting cut, so it can be done.

ummm ... not really. It is a "complimentary" service that replaced the old 1500 "free" service for those Ford owners who bought cars 5 or more years ago.

I suspect that it is really just a chance to reconnect with you as a customer and have a yack with you, for you to experience the selling Dealership's service department and yes, fix a couple of things if you have an issue. Otherwise they wouldn't see you again after purchase until 15,000 k's or 12 mths. Too long in the competitive servicing world ....

No but if you read the manual thats when they recommend full use up to then they recommend going a little easy for run in

I've always had an oil/filter change just to be cautious.
