Thumbs up Amphibious Territory WOW

Last night while traveling home from shopping (100km's one way) we drove into an huge storm. Well it pelted down for almost a half hour. Passed a car which acquaplaned into a foot and a half deep patch of water on the edge of the road, and passed yet another car which stopped from water troubles I guessed (sorry to say, it was a new Holden , and not sure as to why he was out with bonnet up in the thick of it :hrm:, I would have waited). The Territory TS RWD handled the water and wind extremely well. The 2.1 ton is a bonus when driving through water and deep puddles. Even though I was driving safely (40kph) other vehicles were flying past me, fools.

Got home and no leaks (yeah I have been reading most of these threads), and bub slept through the whole lot.

STILL LUV MY TERRITORY

Now done 3100km's in 2 1/2 weeks, and still getting betweek 10.5 and 12.1 litres.

Thats excellent... If that is the same storms around Brisbane/Gold Coast etc in the last few days, i can be assured of my parents AWD Territory and its surefootedness. It felt completely safe, no matter how much rain fell. If I was in my Corolla I would certainly have had to pull over to the side of the road.

As for fuel economy... do you do mostly highway driving? as that economy is excellent.

Yes, I do mostly highway driving. We are from northern Western Victoria and are experiencing the same east coast storms as you are.

Re: Amphibious Territory WOW

The recent rains have certainly been good to demonstrate how fantastic the AWD system is. I was driving one of my kids to a music lesson the other evening when it absolutely bucketed down (mini rivers running across roads) and the way the Terri handled you'd have thought it was dry. My folks live down at the NSW South Coast and the roads down to there can be treacherous - especially in misty rain on the Clyde and Brown Mountains. I'm looking forward to taking the Terri down there soon.
