Re: Cabin creak

Good to see you sorted the problem out. A warranty is a powerful tool, and people should always take advantage of it when ever they can. Report the fault before the warrantly runs out and they have to fix it.

Re: Cabin creak

Mine has now done over 11,000km's, and has had a squeak in the roof clock area. It has had it since 3000km's and only happens over roughish surfaces, such as dirt roads. Sounds like a wiring loom bouncing on the interior of the clock and sunglasses holder moulding. Push on the plastic moulding and all is OK. Annoying, but not that bad that we hate the Terry, in fact we love it soooo much. Will mention it at the first real service (15,000km's).

Re: Cabin creak

G'day mcnamg - the creak disappeared once the seat base was replaced. Now I've got the ETC (electronic throttle control) warning light coming on intermittently (12,700 kms). Had it in at the dealer to be looked at yesterday. An error code came up when they hooked it up to their computer so they reset something in some control unit but it's happening again so it's going back to the dealer. The wife was complaining the other day about strange throttle behaviour but I haven't noticed any problems. Other than that it's great.

Re: Cabin creak

Does anyone have noises around the drivers window area?

My TS has developed a distinct, and annoying creak which can be stopped if you push on the upper door frame. I tried 'blipping' the window switch to lower the glass a little but no improvement (thinking it might be caused by the glass pushing the door frame out of shape or position).

Have seen people taking to a door frame with a rubber mallet to reshape it. Might help but I'm not going to try it

I have noticed a similar problem. I am not sure whether it is the rubber door seals. I was going to try silicone spray but have not got around to doing it yet.

confused Re: Cabin creak

G'Day

I have a May 2005 build AWD Ghia that has had and still has its fair share of creaks and minor irritations-
Firstly the passengers seat creaked incessantly when I had a passenger – every acceleration or braking every undulation in the road would cause the seat to creak - happily the dealer rectified this at the 3000k service – just needed to tighten the bolts it has been okay for the lat 1500k so time will tell if it has been completely fixed.
The doors (both front) were sounding like they were moving on the rubber seals giving rise to another annoying set of creaks and groans – again the dealer rectified the passengers side door problem on the first service but their attempts at the drivers door were fruitless – the drivers door still creaks especially on warm days – a couple of trips to the dealer since still hasn’t managed to resolve problems – waiting for another warm day (bit hard to find in Melbourne) to take it back and show them that it still ain’t fixed.
Pre-ignition (pinking) was very evident on anything other than gentle acceleration until the 3000K service when a reflash of the PCM in the first service fixed about 90% of the occurrences – still sounds like it pinks on relatively hard acceleration (briefly) – it wasn’t the weights on the kickdown cable or whatever the dealer reckoned it was so again it’s a matter of finding the time available to take it back to them to show them what I mean.
Seem to be getting a bit of tyre wear (feathering of the treads) on the front wheels and it has quite a bit of road noise at 100K so again another issue for the dealer to look at – will get the wheel alignment checked before so I am armed with some facts

Overall it’s a nice car – but certainly not what I would expect for a $50K plus vehicle – would have thought that for that kind of money the problems would be few and far between.
