Clock position

This seems to be a touchy subject, so I thought we could have a bit of a poll on the clock position.

I personally like the clock were it is.

Yes, sometimes it is a little hard to see when wearing sun glasses and the back light is a bit bright at night. But I have gotten used to it, and now no longer notice the light at night and I can quickly look up & see the time during the day.

Most of the time I wear a watch, so I only use the centre clock occasionally.

Some have mentioned puting the clock in the ICC, I reckon that this would make reading the time, time consuming it would become crowded.

Make your choice & put down your reasons.

Re: Clock position

There's a space between the top of the ICC and the storage compartment at the top centre of the dashboard that could easily take a clock, it could be the same type as that used on the Fairmont Ghia. That way there's no clutter in the screen, it's much closer to your line of sight and would, I assume, be dimmable like the rest of the instruments.

You forgot to add an option or two,
- Where it is but make it dim when lights are on
- anywhere, don't care really so long as it dims.

Re: Clock position

While this hasn't been a huge issue for me I do agree that at night the clock display can be distracting and it is difficult to get a quick focus on it at any time.

I have voted for in the ICC display (leaving the overhead area for the tyre pressure monitors )

Surely it couldn't be that hard to have the time displayed at either the top right or top left (below the outside temp) on the premium ICC screen.

Note: this is not my ICC screen, my Terri's fuel consumption is much lower than that displayed for this GT-P.

Surely it can go between the radio settings , and the fuel. The radio settings can live with a bit less real estate. Given that we're merely talking software, any option is possible. One thought I had this morning was a toggle option so that one press of the on/off (volume) button gives an analogue clock and the next turns off the screen. So the options would be 1. Everything/2. Clock plus minor info/3. Screen off

Re: Clock position

As much as I have gotten use to the overhead clock and have even been caught by my wife looking at the ceiling in her AU Fairmont for the time, I do have a clock on my TS Command Centre.

I remember seeing (the activation sequence) on a website. It means pushing a sequence of buttons (similar to that of programming your remotes) in order to activate or deactivate it. I think it is something like this (but I can't locate the website to confirm)
  1. Ignition on to accessories
  2. Push the RPT button twice within 5 seconds of turning the accessories switch on.
  3. Then push and hold the MENU button for another 5 seconds
  4. And I THINK then press the RDM button once
I have taken some pictures of my clock on day mode and (by turning the lights on) night mode. Hope this helps.

I still like the overhead clock better though.
