Re: Clock position

Ok, Suggest you don't play around with programming modes on your ICC. I'll ask whether it is there and if so, how it can be re-activated. Will report back next week.

Thanks Territory - if that's all that's required then that pretty much takes one item off the list.

Tongue Re: Clock position

Thought I'd chuck in a clever bit of digital editing. Kept you thinking for a while, didn't it. The clock doesn't exist in the Command Centre on my Territory and I really don't like it there anyway. I'm attached to the one on the roof.

Thought I'd try a bit of fun and get rid of the harassment that goes on towards that poor little clock. LOL

Not particularly funny - I wanted that to be real. I can do the same Photoshopping myself - it doesn't fix the problem though.

Re: Clock position

It is only a problem if you don't like the clock. A clock is a clock in my book, and I like it up on the roof. You have to have some distinguishing features dividing the models. Put it on the Comand Centre and it may as well be a TX. All Falcons, Futuras, Fairmonts and Fairlanes are different in many ways. I was trying to have some fun and make a few smile. Perhaps it didn't work in your case.

That poor defensive little clock!!!

If the clock is the only thing that Ford has to worry about then congratulations. I really think they should be concentrating on quality of finish, namely plastic and moulding mounting. Some of these things are starting to come off in my vehicle (inside and out). Stop some of the rattles some people have been talking about, and attempt a better underbelly guard for those AWD buyers.

I'm lookin' after my poor little clock!

Re: Clock position

Sitting in the happy TX-owners gallery and watching all you poor Ghia/TS owners fighting over the clock I can see this is shaping up as an addition to Ford's list of options in the next release. That would make everybody happy except possibly Ford!

Now just to complicate things, I always think in the 24 hour clock - I hate 12 hour clocks. And wouldn't it be nice to follow Holden and have the date and outside temp displayed too? You've got your work cut out there Territory!

Territory Freedom

Good to see a TX driver sticking up for ones rights. Well said. Despite you possibly paying $44.000 for your TX, I added $2000 more and got a TS with my dealer. After having three fairmonts in the family (not all at once), the TS was similar in features for me. Something you get use to I guess. I would have got a TX though, but desperately wanted the climate control. Maybe Ford should offer a vehicle that you start at a complete running vehicle (say $40,000 on road) and then you option everything up from there, and not have specific models (with no you can't option that in this model red tape). Call it the "Territory Freedom" I would love to option, premium sound, leather, rear parking sensors, fog, electric head mirror and 6 speed auto, but keep the base headlights, grill, etc, etc.

The ambient temp is on the TS and GHIA models and the thermometre is somewhere in or under the left side mirror. This is part of the Comand Centre. All Fairmonts have had is for years as well. Interesting about the 24 hour option. I personally like 12 hour, but my wife (being a nurse) prefers 24 hour. Maybe a setting to allow the change between both options. The date however would be a nice touch.

While you are there maybe even an option to leave the roof clock and option it (menu driven in the command centre). "Don't take away my little clock" ;O

The clock is the one thing that's regularly annoying whereas the bits of plastic coming off I can get fixed at my next service hopefully. Sometimes it's the little things that annoy you.
