Re: Clock position

From the Poll Results so far, it doesn’t look like a landslide win to change the clock position into the ICC.

If you take the, ‘anywhere I really don’t care’ vote of four & add it to the ‘current position’ that makes 10 for and 11 against.
The reason I added the four with the six, is because:
• the clock is already in position
• they don’t care where it is
• it costs Ford nothing to leave it in the current location

I have not put the ‘fit it into the instrument cluster’ into either of the above categories because they are specific on their preference of the clock location.

Looks like the current position is OK

There is nothing wrong with the current position, It's the brighteness level that I don't like.
Now where did I put that sunscreen

Spot on gz1 - its not a great position but you can live with it. The brightness is the real issue. In a $60K vehicle it seems pretty silly to carry a cut to size piece of tint film to put in place for night driving but that's what I do.

I'm not sure why you're particularly pushing this Johnydep. Really it's very easy for Ford to add the functionality to the ICC software. I'd be happy if they had both but basically the clock on the ceiling (as the only clock in the vehicle) is not good enough. It's clearly the one element that was added as an afterthought and so clearly contradicts all the good designs in the rest of the car. Hence the reason why it attracts interest - the better the car, the more obvious small faults are.

It's fun and I'm enjoying myself

Two clocks in a vehicle is a sign of poor design & stupidity, it's like the Commodores that have two red security lights flashing, one in the dash & one in the radio, poor integration of design ideas & products.

The current position of the clock is not looked upon as bad design by everyone.
No one that has been in my Terri has told me the clock is in a bad position, actually a few have commented on how it makes the interior look modern, one comment was that the interior s a whole looked like an aircraft interior.

As for being an after thought, unless it was forgotten until just befor production, it is possible but highly unlikely.
The clock would have been a 'must have' for the Ghia, the design team could have put it in the ICC or in a similar position to the BA Fairmont.
I think they honestly thought that the current position was good.

And I don't mind it were it currently is. Yes it should be on a dimmer, but that is all.

Most of you wear a watch I bet.

And ask your wifes if the clock bothers them.

I'd rather Ford spend the time & effort on Q&A rather than a clock that most people don't care about.

My 2c's worth. Now time for a

Re: Clock position

Don't forget to stack the Territory before you go!!!

:)

I like the clock, and agree, dimming would be the answer, however the brightness doesn't even bother me. Keep the clock and input an option for a clock on the Comand Centre. Ford needs to spend more time on refining the construction and improving the other bigger bits, as changing the clock (although won't cost that much), shouldn't be the priority. They will loose sales if they don't keep the edge and stay one step ahead with new and exciting ideas.
