If so can you tell me how they attach to the window (ie suction caps etc), what you think of them, and how they compare to the window sox that I currently have which fit over the entire window/door.
This is the picture from ford web site but its very difficult to see anything.
I'm ordering my wife a Territory next week. I may even get to drive it occasionally....
They're brilliant. They clip into the channel around the window inside the glass (which you can then open and shut as you please) and stay in place even with windows wide open. I can't believe those external windox sox - so crude by comparison. And make sure you fight the wife for driving rights - women love the car, you can't get them out of the driving seat.
Hi Rhubarb,
I Have all of them, 2nd row, read side, and rear window
The sides work beautifully. for the rear doors, the shades have tabs that push up into the window rubber, between the rubber and the door frame not between the rubber and the window. This allows the window to be lowered with the shade in place.
The cargo area side windows come with stick on mounts, but I don't use them. They sit there by themselves just perfectly.
The rear window shade uses sick on mounts. This worked fine for a while, but in the heat the adhesive pads all failed. I'm waiting for Ford to replace these.
One additional issue with the rear window shade is if you have the Ghia model with the auto dimming rear mirror. The change in light through the rear window seems to stop the mirror working properly.
I have them too. They are outstanding although I think there must be a better way for the cargo sides and back than adhevise. Still going to getting tinting too though.
I have the ones for the back doors, I agree they are brilliant. Go get yourself a set. Foldup into their own pouch and can be easily tucked away under or behind the seat too.
The rear window shade uses stick on mounts. This worked fine for a while, but in the heat the adhesive pads all failed. I'm waiting for Ford to replace these.
I had to remove mine to get tint fitted, so obviously had to pull the clips off, which destroyed the adhesive (which wouldn't have lasted very long anyway by the sounds of it). To stick them back on, I used Automotive double sided body moulding tape - the stuff panel shops use to stick protective strips/badges on with - works well. Just don't try and stick it on when the glass is cold - like in winter. The stuff I got is "Cling" brand and comes in a 12mm x 4m roll for a couple of bucks, and is about .75mm thick - I got it at Magnet Mart which is an equivalent of Bunnings/Mitre 10 etc.
I found I didn't need adhesive on side cargo windows.
Yeah ditto. However, I only found out they press-fit (and stay there) quite nicely, after I had stuck on those pesky velcro things, which pulled straight off when I pulled the shade off!!
