Got genuine roof racks on a few weeks ago thinking I could fix a wire basket that I already had to them without too much fuss.

Ahhh, I was wrong.

1. The roof racks (aside from being ridiculously priced) are really wide - too wide for any aftermarket roof rack manufacturer. I went to every car and 4WD place in town and nobody makes any U-bolts that come close to fitting
2. So I call the local ford dealer, and you can't buy any attachments from Ford either. You have to buy the complete cage or pod or whatever.
3. The night before we went away I ended up using some pieces of flat plates and bolted the damn cage on that way!

So, be careful before getting the genuine roof racks - you'll basically end up stuck using only genuine attachments!
