Go the XR8 wagon even if it has to have leaf springs...

Territory is a move made by a cocky team at Ford who have an over inlfated sense of security due to the well over due success of the Falcon...Hell if BA works, anything else we conjure up will as a well..

BUZZZ. Wrong answer

Why am I scared at that statement from GP? Think David Morgan 8-10 years ago then think AU Falcon.

Mr Polites..

I have nothing but absolute respect for what you have brought to the Ford Motor Company of australia since you took up the reigns. You have delivered & in future will deliver to the Australian consumer a range of vehicles that exceed expectations. The BA range is truely a world class vehicle. For that you have my unwaivering support & gratitude for moving the monolith that was Ford Oz into the new century.
However.. The Territory Program is nothing short of a let down at this stage. The basic concept of the vehicle is pure genius & will undoubtably be a success, but the initial offering will leave a bitter taste in the mouths of many a consumer.
As you are not doubt aware, you need to have a range of options that draws people into your showrooms. If they can't afford what they desire, they are at least in a Ford showroom & can then choose another Ford Vehicle.
Look at the success of V8 Supercar. Look at the popularity of the LS1 and now the Boss/Modular motors.

I can't begin to tell you just how dissapointing this (& other) news has been. I sincerely hope that S2 Territory rectifies these faults, because if it doesn't, you can kiss another generation of performance buyers goodbye.

Having said all that, I will be more than happy to eat humble pie in your office if everything I've heard is a crock.

Has it got control link IRS?"(ala Skaife SS ad) and then they will go home, off to the bank at 8am, sit there and dream about a) how they should've married the girl with the big tits and blonde hair who would have let him have anything, anytime he wanted, b) how everyone at soccer would suck his memeber if he really did have an XR6t and c) how Ford should have brought out a V8 territory so he could have a shot at being the coolest dad on the block.

Instead all he has is a tall, "shocked cat" looking falcon wannabe, that is fatter, slower and he now looks like a poor X5 rather than a cool falcon crossover with an Aussie V8
Next time tell us what you really think!! Cannot disagee with you though. Fantastic.

I think it is overwhelming that there needs to be a V8 wagon. But it's a little skewed to suggest that the wagon is going to be replaced by the territory. The territory shouldn't be the vehicle that replaces the wagon though. It should just be considered as a whole new range. I'm pretty happy that FOA are moving away from being just the 'FALCON' company.

I don't think it matters if the territory gets a V8/turbo at the moment. But hopefully in series 2 or in the future releases the engineers can work out the packaging problem and fit a high output engine into this thing. From what I saw at the MMS the territory has a lot of METAL! I'm estimating 1.8-2 tonnes worth. I am sure the I6 would not have problems moving the thing but a V8/Turbo would make it a little more 'spirited'. Out of interest though, the X5 has a V8 and gets itself to 100km/h in around 10 seconds or so which isn't bad for a relatively heavy vehicle.

If I am in the market for one of these SUV/Crossover/Softroader vehicles acceleration and engine figures are not really what I look for - just look at the CRV(top selling in its class) with its 118kW engine. It all will come down to the features, gimmicks and how many cup holders the vehicle has.

I do hope that GP is listening and gives you guys the V8 wagon that you've asked for.
