Re: Icc Dvd??

Does the REX system even have video out?

If so it should be able to be hooked up via the Blaupunkt adapter.

Yeah - it has video and audio in and out connections. You can hook up other screens so you should be able to hook it up to the ICC

Re: Icc Dvd??

is the rex screen pal or ntsc as the icc only accepts ntsc inputs and i have a funny feeling you will find the rex is pal only but there are some converters that can be found for this issue cheap and expensive

Re: Icc Dvd??

The REX3 can play ntsc discs, but would I still need a converter to watch PAL discs on the ICC? Does anyone know where in Sydney I can get this setup?

Hi Guys,
I brought a fold down screen / DVD / TV to go in the roof. Looking at wiring it up now.
I did expect to find the wires already in the roof but they are not. Go figure. So, Am I correct in saying that I will wire the audio from the DVD into the Aux audio point by the fuse box? Am I right?
But, please explain the Blaupunkt adapter? Maybe I will able to plug the output from the DVD into the front screen?
Suggestions please?

By the way, DVD / TV 8in screen $800.00 NZ

Re: Icc Dvd??

Hivision,

Bluapunkt make an interface that from memory allows for up to 4 input channels to be routed to the ICC screen, it converts the signal to NTSC. Good for DVD, SatNav, rear camera etc. It seems the Press Release is no longer on their website though, at least I can't find it. It gets plenty of coverage in this thread; DVD/MP3 Player - Watch DVD Movies in your BA on the factory screen

Also, there is a guy (cutsnake) at the XR6T forums trying to get a digital TV tuner to work on the ICC screen along with another connecting an X-Box (Aaron) who also has a DIY Aux Audio input how to (see his sig for links)

Cutsnake has a proof-of-concept document that shows you how to wire an image into the screen using RGB/SCART connectors. I hope that makes sense it's all pretty much double-dutch to me but made interesting reading.

I can't link to the XR6T thread from here as that forum is black-banned.
Do a search for 'digital tv tuner' in the mod section and you should find it.

Happy wiring! Let us know how you go.

Re: Icc Dvd??

Hi Guys, Here is an update.
I have found the parts for connecting a DVD into a Terry (also a falcon I think) There is someone else that makes these for Ford. These come with the REX Player. Part No.WFD09. This wiring loom connects the RCA audio output from the DVD to the Radio Auxiliary loom. In other words it has 2 RCAs at one end, a noise suppresser and the magic plug that’s connected to the Aux for the stereo. What I wish to know is the correct wire configuration for the Aux plug. I hope Aaron is correct http://aaron.ausmicro.com/BA_Falcon/AUX_Audio.pdf
The next loom is the WFD10. This daisy chain loom takes the +12v from the Mobile phone plug. I have been quoted $125.00 from ford, ex Aus. I think this is dear so I will make them.
It looks from the Rex 3 installation instructions that the Rex has no Video output lead for the front screen, or any other screen, only a video input for the PS2, Xbox etc.
The Ford Games Pack is simple inverter 12v – 240v and an AV input into the Rex.
I am sure Dick Smith would be able to do it cheaper.
The next question is, (and I can’t find this anywhere) what is the interface input for the ICC screen? I realise that I will need an adapter, like the Blaupunkt, but what is the wire configuration for the input? Is it a standard lead that Blaupunkt make?
BTW, I asked my local ford dealer to install the wires for the DVD. It turned out they had no idea that there was even an Auxiliary input for the stereo!!!!! So I have been educating them on the install. As for the possibility of making the front screen to display DVD they were blown away.
Thank you, for your help Raptor, But I failed to find more information on the subject. Even if you can manual write the address in without the http//www. I am obviously searching in the wrong place.
