Ummm Rocket... Yes they're both SUV's

As for the similarities - there aren't any at all. The Terri is a clean design for Australian eyes. The ML is curvy and edgy for US eyes.

The ML from the rear looks nearly as wierd as a Cayenne, but looks good from the front - better than the Terri in fact.

Still $70k for the base model may be a good next "investment". The only reason I didn't look this time was that the old ML is a heap of junk. The options prices are plain stupid of course but surely some solid negotiation could get that down. $2000 for metallic paint for example.

I'd say it looks more like a Terri merged into a Rav4.

All SUVs generally tend to look alike anyway, I wouldn't feel too upset.

"Shit! It's MB!"

So I must be mistaken in the excentuated wheel arches, the forward sloping rear glass and rear pillars, the roofline that slopes down at the back.....
That is what I was talking about, unless I need new eyes

I can see the guys at MB quaking at their knees at the thought of the Australian Territory - I don't think so. Pure coincidence. Their SUVs are ugly (likewise the Cayenne and Tourreg) but they don't care because people buy them because they are Mercedes/German. People overrate German cars just as they do Toyotas. I think the greatest joke is that the creator of the Volkswagen and Porsche, Ferdinand Porsche, was actually Czech. Hitler hated the Czechs (probably because they are smarter than the Germans) so took over their country and conveniently Porsche became "German" - just a little historical automotive sideline!

Sorry Rocket - the only similarity is the very general outline which is shared by all SUV's.

Look much more carefully at the MB wheel arches - straight up, angle, concave curve - very different to the Terri
Then look at the hip which looks a bit Hyundai. The Terri got rid of it's hip.
Then look at the rear lights on the MB which are rather messy.
The MB from the front actually looks a bit aerodynamic - unlike the Terri :-)
The Terri rear glass is vertically fairly straight (but leaning forward) but the MB has a curve in it.
Rear pillars are generic - nearly identical in everything.
I give you points only for the roof :-)
