After catching up with my mate from Ford this weekend, I can confirm that we will see AWD on Falcon on on many other variations. He said Fords development of Barra is around the 500 million dollar mark (holden are spending around 200 mil on VY), he said this is because they are going to have several different variations of their 4x4 system so that it can be applied across a broader range of car types.

PROJECT GRIZZLY

Guy's about a week ago I visited a pattern making place just to see whats involved with making foundry patterns.
Anyway being in NZ (especially the area I live in) I didn't have any thoughts that would suggest that I was going to see some thing of the unexpected.

Well the unexpected did come - in the form of side mouldings for project Grizzly and the entire front bumper of the next Laser.
The side mouldings of project Grizzly (which I didn't see) were completed about six months ago, and after hearing this it suggests that the development of the 4x4 Ute is well under way.
I tried squeezing more info out of the guy I was talking to but he would say no more because of confidentiality agreements with Ford.

Regarding the Laser, he said that the bumper was from the next model and didn't seem to think that it was from a previous or the current model.
I saw it in the flesh and thought it looked strange because it had a big hole on one side of the airdam - which suggests that it is a sports model and possibly from Tickford, I just wish I had a camera with me because it was in a corner of a room sitting up next to other bumpers.:oo1:

Great work 99!!! Seems to re-inforce my suspicions that the AWD ute isn't that far away...
