Did you turn the traction control off?

No. I thought I may have to but the only time I noticed it kick in was when I was trying to do donuts on the sand to clear the sump guard. Even in the really soft stuff it powered through. Maybe if you were bogged then it would be necessary to turn it off.

Re: Sandy Territory

If you were bogged, turning it off would do nothing to help as you'd be there with 1 wheel spinning as the AWD system's made up of 3 open diff's

That's my thinking as well.

But Ford recommend turning it off, I think too stop the Traction Control process from retarding engine power & revs as it trys to minimise wheel spin.

Maybe depends on the situation, aswigon left it on and didn't get bogged.

Anyone else with sand driving experience with their Territory want to tell us if you had the Traction Control on or off.
