The fuel fillers on the wrong side - and too far back to be a XD-H ute
L8a,
Prud
The fuel tank has most likely been relocated from the original spot under the tray behind the passenger seat. It looks like this space in now being utilised for extra cab space, that's why the filler is somewhere new.
You guys can poke fun at it if you like but imagine how much better off Ford Australia would have been with something like this instead of having the country overrun with Hilux, Rodeos, Triton and the like imports.

I like it. Retro R5 :s5
definitely! i agree with you wholeheartedly! i'd love to see a 4x4 Falcon ute, like that Terra concept. with the raptor project coming up, i can't see why it couldn't be done!

I agree mate, i like your analogy of that pic being a retro R5. I'm sure when the R5 (project Raptor) will be released it will crush the oposition like Forester, CRV etc.

Don't confuse R5 and Raptor they are different things.
Raptor, from what I understand, will be an all-new body structure on a reworked AWD current (AU-AV(Barra)) Falcon platform.
Competing vehicles would include Pajero, Prado, Challenger while also taking some sales away from the heavyweight Cruiser & Patrol owners who finally realise they don't need a truck as well as the smaller CRV, Forester buyers who would like something bigger and more powerful. Should also bite into the people mover market.
R5 was a dual cab ute concept vehicle indicating what might be possible by marrying the Falcon Ute with the Raptor platfom. If it goes ahead would compete with Hilux, Rodeo, Triton etc.

I can't wait to see the day a 4wd Falcon ute is released. Single cab & dual cab. It would sell it's ring bit off IMO..

definitely would! there's nothing like it out there right now! you've got the mini-trucks, but they are exactly that - mini trucks! the 4x4 ute would have all the creature comforts of a Falcon, VERY torquey engines, loads of room and they'd be probably the most refined 4x4 utes on the market!
