If you open the glovebox and look into the depths you can see a slide control from memory labelled something like <-- open closed -->

A brief scan of the manual didn't show up a description, anyone know what it is for?

It isn't a slide control lever (think you'll find it is fixed) I believe it is part of the ventilation ducting and that wording is just some exterior labelling on the part.

It's where the optional pollen filter goes - though mine has one anyway and I didn't order it :)

yep pollen filter lives there. same on BA.

They jsut clip in, if you didnt get one when you bought the car you can buy one and drop it in yourself.
They cost something like $50 and last few years i think, but should be cleaned every 6 months. In fact I might just go check mine now.
