Re: Some questions

Hi Organza, you wont find many (any?) similar spec tyres. We used 235/60 to help get better steering/handling and the compounds / treads were designed to minimise road noise, max grip etc etc. But given there will be over 10,000 T's out there before the end of the year, there will be cheaper alternatives appearing fast - as always.

Re: Some questions

I beleive Bridgestone have 3 Tyres in development for Territory...
A road based Tyre....
a Mud slugger and also a Replacement for the AWD std tyre.

It would stand that a number of Aussie companies would be producing tyres for it... give how many would be replaced!

Mud and Snow .... but I wouldn't take that literally. The Fortera's are way too closed in the tread to do much mud running .... and they might be a bit better in snow ... but not by much.

I'll let em have it for that on the satisfaction survey!

On every bloody thing else there is a warning (if you have this you must have that) or (if you have this you can't have that) blah blah blah!

Gut feel here on this one .... but maybe it is not so much Ford over charging but your Dealer because they were not aware of the issue themselves?

Maybe its worth just running the issue past the Dealer and if they are fair dinkum they would put their hand up and say they made a mistake and will refund you the difference?

Dunno ... but it'd be worth a try before you went to war (if that was what you wanted to do).

Re: Some questions

Yes I understand that Organza and agree with what your saying.

But in the eye of the general public the Ford Dealer Network = Ford and it's about bloody time that the dealers understood the product they're trying to flog, wherever the blame for their not knowing may be.

As an example a serious prospect (my manager) for a new FPV Typhoon went to enquire about the car at the same dealer that my car came through;

Dealer......"never heard of it mate"
Prospect......"your joking, it been in all the papers and was shown at the Motor Show all last week"
Dealer....." have you looked at the Ford website, it's pretty good. It might have what you want to know there"
Prospect....."so your referring me to the website because you've never heard of it"
Dealer...."I could make some calls and see what I could find out, what did you say it was called again"
Prospect...."Forget it, I think I'd rather go elsewhere"

If this sounds like a junior sales guy your wrong. It was from the Lease Manager that has 10+yrs with that same Ford dealership.

Sad isn't it!

As my Terry is through I lease company who sought the quote from the dealer I might get them to sort it out. Maybe the threat of losing "preferred dealer" status will get their attention.

Organza is probably right, Go easy on the dealers as I think the initial order guides did show this combination was available and was later blocked.

RAPTOR that FPV story is unbelievable! Very frustrating to hear that sort of stuff. Typhoon is an awesome car, so dont let their lack of awareness put him off. It has such massive acceleration I was in shock when I drove it.
