Yes they have calibrated the production line for the Territory, when I was there on Monday they had a few shells there already produced....with 50 being made that day or week.

The only problem with releasing her early is that it then pushes the Fiesta back (which a lot of people wouldn't really care about I guess). Maybe there are some really tricky bits they are putting in it, meaning a lot more testing to make sure it is right.

Isnt the Fiesta comming first? I think thats why Territory is so far back so they can give the Fiesta some breathing space in the market, so they dont FLOOD the market with too much information.

I think initially the Fiesta will be on par for sales with the Territory, look how many Barinas,Echos they sell.

Yes the Fiesta is coming first, by a couple months. This is so there isn't a repeat of the Focus' sales dilemma that we are currently seeing.

What I was getting at though was that some people want the Territory to come into the market earlier...this would then mean the Fiesta's release would have to be moved so there isn't a repeat of the aforementioned Focus situation, or as you stated...flooding of the market.

Re: Is the Territory allowed in the Aussie Falcons forum?

As much as I agree with the desire to see the car on sale NOW, if we have to wait then so be it.

Territory must be right from Job 1. If it tanks in the marketplace because it's been rushed and isn't sorted then it'll be all over for Ford Australia.

Think EA and AU sales disasters combined and then multiplied by 5.

The few reports we've had from journos that have had a ride in development mules and such say it looks promising, and Ford are obviously doing a lot behind the scenes to make sure the reviewers and Joe public like it a lot.

Better to wait a little and see what everyone has before they flood the market. This thing is going to be a lot cheaper than Adventra and a lot better than Kluger, but it had better be good if the Fairfax press are going to say things other than 'it makes history by being the first local vehicle to crack the 2 tonne mark with the AWD variants start at 2040kg'.

EXACTLY...already they are bagging it out, even before it is on the roads. That would be the prime reason to keep it until it is ready and not rush it onto the market to get sales.
