Territory AWD GHIA (pics)

I had the chance to enjoy a drive in an offshore Territory AWD GHIA (with no leather?) evaluation vehicle.
We first tested out the steep gradient function in a very hilly area - which the territory handled with ease (you dont even need to touch the brakes down hills). The vehicle is very stable.
Flooring the territory's throttle whilst rolling is not the most responsive (it builds up revs as if it were in neutral and then starts to accelerate) but its gear changes are DAMN smooth. Yes, it is very car-like in its handling manners. Although the tyres will just not lose any traction even without traction control, and on dirt!
The blind-spots are horrific. The pillars don't give you much view!
No one really looks at it though - we went looking for attention but no one cares about it. lol

All in all, the territory is VERY NICE and if/when the turbo version gets released - WATCH OUT!

Everyone I have talked to says "It looks like any other 4WD out there"....so you aren't going to get much attention, unless you tick the Mandarin Orange colour option! Would have been better for attention if they had kept the styling similar to the R7 Concept.

Thanks for the review Chubbz....am a little worried about the magazines/newspapers bagging out its acceleration though.

Is it just me or does that blue look darker than Offshore normally is? Maybe it is because it is dark.

ChuBBz,

What's the remote for? Was this one fitted with the REX system?

Plus there have been pictures & motor show appearances for two years, so it's not that "new" any more.

That'll be for the Sat-Nav by the looks of it. Same as the one available for Falcon now.

Re: Territory AWD GHIA (pics)

seen a truckload of mostly offshore territory's heading along the ring rd yesterday morning, most likely evaluation vehicles. The dealers will have them to show customers in a few weeks so everyone will get the chance to drive one before they buy, well, thats the theory anyway!

My mate is an engineer at Ford (1st year) and he can simply sign his name to take cars out for a night, or over a weekend if very lucky. He has to write a report on it, clean it and fill it up with petrol (ford have their own fuel pumps onsite). He can sign for xr6's and xr8(mostly manuals). He didn't mind me taking photos - its coming out anyways!! just as long as i blacked out the plates.

Its offshore - thats what it looks like at night. i really wish i saw it during the day though.
