Drive and Wheels did comparo of Terrier with adventra and klugar in the outback/bush, and lot of people said it was a bit off the point thats not what territory is designed for.
So who shoudl it be compared to?

How about the RWD seven seater version against Kia Carnival/ Tarago/ Nimbus/ Oddessy/ Voyager. After all these are the "family soccer mom" kiddie hacks, for people with lots of kids.

OR AWD Ghia vs Subaru Libery wagon, light offroad, snow bunny car.

BMW X5 (the smaller engined cheapest one agianst Ghia- still cheaper) or X3 and merc ML.

any other ideas?

Territory AWD Ghia v. BMW X5 v. Mercedes ML would be a good read.

My local Ford dealer told me that a BMW salesman came in looking at a Territory Ghia for his wife, saying that he couldn't afford an X5 and the Ghia was just as good.

The number of people who come into the dealership absolutely stunned by how well it stacks up to a $100k + X5 is amazing. The ML is a useless tank and ML owners themselves have openly shamed their own cars after driving the Terrie, but those who've driven X5's have also really been amazed. It most certainly isn't $40k better... if you put 19's and sticky rubber on a Terrie I'm sure it'd handle just like an X% too, although on 17's it is amazingly good... more fun than you can have in a Tarago for example. Or even some sedans...

Agreed. I was looking at a used X5 or ML before the Territory came out.

Now for less money than a four year old model I'm getting an AWD Ghia 7 seater in Lightning Strike.
