I was speaking to the local ford dealer. He said that later this year there would be a FPV Territory. That'll be interesting for have a fang of!!
This might be a silly question, but does anyone know if there is any reason why you couldn't put the 290BOSS into the Territory?
There was some talk about the steering rack or something being in the way of the big V8 but I personally think there has to be a way around that, the V8 would fit if enginered.

"FORD FOCUSING ON FUTURE PLANS.
A top secret plan is being pushed by Ford to power through the second half of 2004 and into 2005.
A BA11 Falcon and a turbocharged Territory are under develpoment but the all new Focus, due in Australia next May,is the only confirmed newcomer from the blue oval camp.
The BA11 is Fords's likely response to the new VZ Commodore from Holden, which will hit the road in September, while the power packed Territory should follow the mid-range TS model that joins the TX and GHIA soon.
But Ford refuses to talk about any of its product plans."
Th rest of the article talks about how Ford needs to sell the Focus to Australians. Falcon will remain crucial to Ford Australia. The interview is with Mr Tom Gorman. Obviously he knows more than dealers.
I ann't scan the article as I don't have a scanner.

I think what the paper is saying is that a Turbo is coming and will follow the TS - which is coming soon (meaning the TS is coming soon, not the Turbo)....
Just my way of reading it anyway.
I am sure that if the Turbo was to be on sale in a little over a month, that it would have been marketed along with the rest of the range.

These statements have not put timelines on the release of the turbo terry. They are saying it will come after the release of the TS, without saying when. Of course it is going to follow the release of the TS because the TS ain't that far away.
Oh and for the final time, BOSS V8's won't fit in the terry engine bay because it is not wide enough.

45,000km service coming up - and i'll be asking for a sizable list of fixes:
* Gearbox (3rd time)
* Steering click (5th time)
* Brake Shudder (2nd time, and has the applied "Fix")
* etc...
It is reported in todays Courier Mail, that a Turbo version of the Territory , will be realised at the same time as the TS model. This is from Mr Gorman, he should now! Priced between the TS and the GHIA. Adventra killer !!
Just got a reply from Ford:
Thank you for your e-mail to Ford Motor Company of Australia Limited.
At present we have not confirmed plans on the production of a Territory with a turbo engine option, and as such we cannot yet comment on the release timing.
We thank you for taking the time to write to Ford Australia.

I got a similar message to rocket last week whe I asked about the turbo. But it could be that they are saving it up for the run to Sydney Motor Show in October in an attempt to head off any early exposure of the new commode facelift and finally put the sword to the Adventra as an option.
Also the next version Mitsu all wheeler is due Sept/Oct but not really a competitor.
where did it say the price of the turbo in that article anyway? If anything it'll probably be more expensive than a Ghia oltherwise hardly anyone would want a ghia.
