Re: Territory to get Turbo

The V8 wont fit in the Territories engine bay - and the 4.6 DOHC V8 wont fit in the Falcons engine bay... both stories told by Ford Australia... Not only did the 4.6L fit the AU, but we got the bigger motor in the BA in the end.... :-) Now - when will they give in on the V8 Territory?

Re: Territory to get Turbo

The modular V8 into Falcon was an issue of clearances - company policy said X clearance must exist blah blah. Polites just changed the policy and in it went.

The Territory has a steering shaft running through to the front mounted rack taking up real-estate that the V8 would normally occupy. Different problem!

I'm not saying there aren't solutions however.

Re: Territory to get Turbo

for the record , i did read some time ago a article on the new terry and mr polites mentioned that he would have liked a v8 option . he said a bit more but i can't rememberit was so long ago . just on another note if the terry has a weight problem now imagine if it had the v8 . and if it was a v8 the all alloy 4.6 ltr .

The Territory doesn't really have a weight problem, it's well with in it's weight in it's class, there are a lot of AWD vehicle's in the same weight as the Territory.

Re: Territory to get Turbo

My Territory gets around an average of 16L per 100kms, which is nearly the same as what my BA XR8 did. If it had a V8 it would probably average around 18-19L per 100 and that is just cruising around. I still would have got a V8 if it was available though.
