Territory Negatives

Took a Territory TX RWD for a drive today and was VERY impressed, however i'm interested to hear some owner's experiences and recommendations on them.

Is there anything you wish you had have optioned/have got but dont need much?

Re: Territory Negatives

Yeah, two extra cylinders.
The Ghia has everything you need so i'm pretty happy with it, lots of little gizmos to play with. If I bought a TX I would miss the premium sound the most but its not even an option.

Re: Territory Negatives

bossxr8,

do you gneuinely think the Ghia is worth the extra $12k or so? As it is we are already very impressed with the TX, sure it has a few things missing but it's still got pretty much everything my parents need (they're buying one).

It'll be very interesting to see what the TS model brings with it - I am guessing something along the lines of premium sound optioned, reverse park assist optioned, side airbags optioned and a lot of others that the TX doesnt even have as options.

As far as i can tell, the Ghia only really has climate control and leather seats as its advantages over an TS or TX?

Re: Territory Negatives

I would say the biggest negatives are its the size of a car, weighs all most as much as a real suv, and guzzles almost as much fuel... somebody should do a test.. Territory Ghia awd vs Explorer Limited 4.6

The full specs for the TS are released, though we probably won't know for sure until it starts rolling down the line.

From memory the extra's over the TX are;
  • Cargo cover
  • Cruise
  • Premium Sound
  • Climate Control
  • Side airbags
  • Alloy wheels

As well as different interior trim (non leather),
Reverse sensors remain an option. If my memory is correct from the MMS preview it picks up the silver headlights and some of the chrome trim on the grill (but not the horiz bars) and tailgate.

It's the Premium Sound & Climate Control that matter to me and why I'm holding out for a TS.

Fuel consumption is certainly higher than a Falcon, but usually not an issue in this market segment.

Comparo to Explorer would be interesting, the two are not direct competitors, but may steal sales from one another.

I Have not sat in one yet, but I hope it has kept the interior roominess of the Falcon, I hate the fact that even so-called Large 4wds are smaller than large cars (Shoulder room in Land Cruiser is not much different to a Camry. and rear knee room is worse)

Re: Territory Negatives

Raptor, can you tell me where those specs are, or better still list them up?

Thanks.

Re: Territory Negatives

back2thefutura, re TS specs

I'm sure they're posted on here somewhere,

They have been detailed on a 2 page pamphlet since the Melb Motor Show, and

They are in the full glossy brochure available from your Ford dealer (which is well worth getting if you haven't seen one)

But if your looking for something online you might as well go to the Ford Territory 'Specs and Options' page and play with the drop-downs;

Click => http://www.ford.com.au/territory/specs.asp

Re: Territory Negatives

The Ghia gets extras like 6 way instead of 4 way power seats with memory, chromatic rear view mirror, dual zone instead of single zone climate control, body colored bumpers and foglights as well as a cargo net and the other items mentioned such as leather and cargo cover as well as a few other bits and pieces.
I think by the time you get the options the Ghia has standard on a TS, such as the body color bumpers etc you would be getting pretty close to the price of the Ghia, and you wouldn't be able to get all the extras the Ghia has.

Re: Territory Negatives

Got the brochure today - had a copy before but i have no idea where it is.

TS gets climate control and premium sound - BIG points over the TX.
