Oh ok. Of course we all know how great Ford Australia's market research has been in recent years!! AU forte anyone??? I'm well aware that 4WD's are an expanding market, I just think it's an expanding market of people that don't want to drive a local Ford/Holden type product. The people that truly need a 4WD aren't really expanding, it's the pretend/wanker/yuppie image that's expanding and they aren't gonna want a ford. Just my opinion of course!!!
Having worked on the Ford stand for 3 nights promoting the territory, Ford's market research has been spot on. There was so much interest in the cars on display is wasn't funny. If we were able to take orders for them at the show, personally I probably could have sold about 50+. Some people were almost willing to put money down without a drive. I was a little unsure just how well the territory would sell, but after the motorshow i think ford will be in the same boat as the BA, they won't be able to build enough of them.

Now this has turned into a qrt mile/ speed debate, which the Territory is not souly focused on,who care's if it does 17 sec qrt's, it's an AWD vehicle, something to get away with on those longweekend's, this vehicle is marketed at people who want a recreational vehicle, not someone who want's a ball terror.

Unfortunately the journos seem to think one of the most important aspects of a vehicle is how fast it can go from 0-100kmh....

Works for me! I only really buy motor magazine and since it's a focus on performance cars it's only natural for them to provide a measurement of that performance. I'm not sure what you would measure on a 4WD, perhaps how many degrees of vision it blocks at intersections for the other motorists?

Also from the back of Motor Magazine. BA XR6 0-100 in 8.11 and 400metres in 15.86.
I was only refering to standard cars anyway. Doesn't matter, back on topic..
Most soft roaders are not well endowed with performance, but the Territory in theory should have the measure on most in it's segment. And to some it still matters.
was at the motorshow and saw this thing up close and personal. Nice car, even better in FPV guise.
A mate of mine worked on the stand for 3 nights, let me just say that a famous V8Supercar driver (on the wednesday night) approached him and asked when the FPV version is coming out, because he obviously wants one. Mate was obvisouly unable to answer that, coz he doesn't know, well that's what all of the say...
The reaction to the Territory while i was there was fabulous. I had to wait to get a damn seat in one, and there are 7 seats!!!!
These cars will sell... i have no doubts, and neither does my mate, who had endless enquiries about test drives and pricing... (mainly for the Ghia).
