Re: Territory Revealed (models and prices)
I think there is many on here that have missed the point of what Ford are doing here.
I am very keen to get a test drive as we are looking for a car for the wife and it is a perfect fit.
The main competitors are the Klugger and the outback, the Klugger is a very good option but the price kills it at around 52k on road for the mid spec model, but as its base platform and running gear is a Lexus RX330 it performs well for its class and drives like a car
The reasons that so many mum's drive a 4x4 type vehical is they are just so convientant. They are at the right heigh to load kids and shopping into they give good visability of the road and are a comfortable size for holidays
Those of you who have tried to pack for a 2 week touring holiday with 2 kids under 3 will know this very well
This market doesnt need 4x4 they need a AWD but in the past there as been very few options so this fills that hole so they bough a 4x4 which in turn have cases 4x4's to get softer which to me is a big grumble
I have a real 4x4 and I compete in 4x4 motor sport so you can be assured it gets real 4x4 work not a urban 4x4 but it doesnt make a good family car which the Territory will fill that need very well so we will have the best of both worlds a family car that will take us to those picninc spots that will scrape the crap out of an XR6 and the real 4x4 for true off road work
It is all about buying a car that suits your lifestyle for some of us it will be a GT falcon for others the territory
