Only glanced at it but I agree that the Terri needs steering wheel controls illumination.

Will read the rest later, thanks for the link.

FYI - that's just the www.goauto.com.au review which gets rehosted by a bunch of auto related groups.

That said... it rang fairly true for me having driven a TX last weekend.

The idea is that you shouldn't need to look at them, just go by feel. It's also why there are only a couple of buttons not 24.

Can understand that this might be an issue for a journo who has little ongoing drive relationship with a car, but for me as an ongoing owner ..... I KNOW where the buttons are and dont need any more light pollution or distractions in the car when driving at night. Vastly prefer a dimly instrument panel than having lights everywhere.

The ability to turn off the liquid crystal display completely, for the radio etc on the ICC, is a great feature and if I was going to request anything, I 'd love Ford to provide a means to dim the clock screen on the overhead sunglasses panel. It regularly distracts me at night.

Sounds like he really loved the vehicle, as do many people. Great review.

...or it could be that he loves Fords! Interesting comment there.

The thing that worries me about the territory is its fuel consumption. If you drive it hard then it must suck fuel like mad. Anyone with experience on this?

Once you get over 100km/h you can see the fuel gauge drop. I hope it gets better as the engine loosens up, I've been told that it will.

I put down some figures here; Territory Fuel Economy
Quote:
Took the Ghia on the Highway last night, at 115 km/h the average fuel consumption was 13.3 L/100 km. When I turned the airconditioner of the fuel consumption instantly dropped to 12.3 L/100 km.

At 94 km/h - 9.8 L/100 km

At 120 kmh - 14.4 L/100

I have notice the fuel consumption is improving as I clock up more KM's. Hope it keeps getting better.
