Territory V8 if BMW can...

If BMW can shoehorn a V10 into a 545i, then Ford can V8 a Territory.

BWM sell millions of cars worldwide, i think they have a bit more money to play with when required to make relevent changes and installs on the their production lines.

And the point of this thread is what?

There's already a V8 Territory thread running at present, you could have posted this pearl of wisdom in there...

Re: Territory V8 if BMW can...

While the DOHC 5.4 may be a bit of a ask.. The 4.6L SOHC 3 valve V8 should fit much easier. While not very useful for the Australian market, US and China might certainly be interested to see if you can squeeze the 4.6 mod in there.

BMW haven't always sold lots more cars than Ford Australia, during the early 80's they were making a simular number of cars I belive..

BMW V10 is a clean sheet, they made it so it would fit, you can fit a V12 in there as well I belive.. Fords modular engines are just too friggin huge.. They are a rather silly design in that reguard.

IPhido

My point was that BMW's range of cars are all pretty much world wide (Territory is local), this means the budgets are absolutely huge comapred to Ford AUS. It shouldn't come as a surprise to know that BMW could have well spent the same amount of development dollars on an engine, as Ford AUS spent on the whole of Territory.
