Territory will be heading overseas..

Expect to see Ford Australia's Territory running around overseas in a couple of years. Seems the export program is in full swing with a new name and minor design changes in place already..

Damn it's quiet in here..

Very interesting... I wonder how in the hell they can get the volume for export though, from Broadmeadows?

Re: Territory will be heading overseas..

yeah i have no idea how they will deal with the extra numbers, i don't expect to be seeing new plants opening up for the extra capacity coz we would've heard about that by now, i guess the extra capacity will be acheived simply by production line changes.

Re: Territory will be heading overseas..

As long as they are not referring to New Zealand as "overseas" then all sounds good.

Re: Territory will be heading overseas..

he he, no he wasn't referring to NZ. Definately the US. The name they are throwing around is 'Freestyler'.

I was under the impression that Freestyler was an SUV buit in the US, but it seems it will be our Territory that is the base for that car.

Well from what if have seen of the Freestyle (not sure if that is the right name or not) it looks identicle to the Territory side on.

I will try and find a picture to compare the two.

Re: Territory will be heading overseas..

No. Geoff said they benchmarked the Territory against the US equivalent and the Territory was better. I remember hearing this in the FF Raid video footage. That's why he went on to say that his product was the best in the Ford world of its type.

I don't think they are the same car.

Re: Territory will be heading overseas..

They are fairly different in configuration, all I can report is that Ford Media are really pushing out press kits about the Territory to US journos.
