I can think of a reason: It's people having a civil conversation.

Leave it.

Why is an American moderating an Australian forum?? Australian's use humour very differently to yanks - what may offend Americans wouldn't bat an eyelid here. Americans go all funny when you mention sexual-bias (like gays etc) yet don't have any problems with movies in which people run around killing everyone. Australians make light-hearted jokes about people's backgrounds and use very tongue-in-cheek references - so how can an American moderate that when the mid-set is so different?

I didn't read anything in this forum that's remotely as risky or risque as used in many other forums - so what gives OlSkool?

All I'm saying is that common sense should apply. If the topic of a thread is "Territory wins Queer car of the year award!!!" then you should assume that it's going to contain some comment in it - some of which may be biased, some of it plain rubbish, some tongue-in-cheek. It turns out that there were VERY moderate replies in this thread, none if which should have caused any concern to a moderator.

Yeah, it was meant to be tongue in cheek, not tongue in bum! Go rent "Bowling for Columbine" if you want to learn more about the culture of fear in America. The media do the same thing here, But instead of South Central L.A. it becomes South Western Sydney.

Re: Territory wins Queer car of the year award!!!

Hey before we go to war with the USA I think all this fracas started because the conversation was wandering off into Jeeps etc not cultural hangups. Perhaps Ford can bring this thread to a close by bringing out a Territory in bright Pink. P.S. to our US friends - I've said before the Territory is not a truck!
