Thoughts on Tyre Wear

Just done about 11 000 km and and the tyre wear seems to be quite good.

Haven't checked but I assume that they will be rotated at the 15 000km service.

Obviously different driving environments will affect wear.

Just wondering is anybody close to needing their second set of tyres and how many km's have they got out of their first set. And maybe what sought of price they paid.

Re: Thoughts on Tyre Wear

I'm at 35 odd thousand kilometres and after a pretty rugged outback trip I'm down 60% to 70% on original tread .... on the AWD Goodyear Fortera's. I'm more than happy with that and will get the same tyres on replacement.

The Fortera's do a good job in the wet, off road and wear is acceptable to good. With a bit of shopping around you can get them for about $270, possibly cheaper if you are a demon.

Re: Thoughts on Tyre Wear

Obviously the Hard compound of the all terrain tyres is good for longevity.
You should be able to (unless all city driving) get 60,000 plus out of a set.
