Re: ts terri sound system

sorry to drag an old thread back from the dead. just had a few questions about the audio systems in the terri. didnt see the need to start another thread about it.

1. is there still a mounting point in the tx where the premium sub would go in the high spec models?
2. has anyone fitted any amplifiers yet and where have they put them (pics would be great)
3. what is the mounting depth like in the doors for replacing the stock speakers?

also if anyone has any general info or tips about the territory sound system please feel free to share

cheers

Glenn

Re: ts terri sound system

I'll re-drag this thread again. How many and what types of speakers exist in the Territory (TS/Ghia)? I'd look but I don't have one yet. Just the one amp?

Any wiring charts of the system around? I'm asking a lot of questions but hope to answer some too. My Saab came with a "premium" sound system too, but I changed all the speakers to Infinity Reference and added a couple more + two more amps. It went from a 150W/7 speaker system to a 640W/9 speaker system and the difference was night and day. I hope to do a similar thing to the Terri. The Terri can sound a lot better IMO

I think it's more because the unit is integrated into the dash and with the heater/ventilation controls (HVAC) as part of a single body control module and not a single din or double din unit that can be removed ******ds from the dash like all past units. I believe Pioneer Electronics were ordering BA's as rep display cars as they previously had AU's until this was discovered. I personally find th estock unit more then OK and with a DVD running in the back keeping miss 2.5 y.o. occupied it's really academic as to high end sound quality. As to the brand i actually discovered it one day and I'm certain it starts with S but wether its Sanyo or Sharp I can't remember. Someone mentioned Bose above and this would really surprise me as I know if it was the case and i were a Ford product planner i'd let this be written on the unit or dash somewhere to advertise this.
