The product they use now has only come out from Wynns very recently.

I too have had stuff from the dealer before that only lasted 2 years at most.

The "new" product has a lifetime warranty. Ford guarantee that anything will wash off and not stain the paintwork. If it does ford will re-spray the panel.

Suppossedly I dont have to polish the car ever again.

I hope this stuff works as I go waterskiing in a place that trees drop sap that sticks to your car like you know what to a blanket.

Any opinions on this new product would be appreciated.

Thanks.
I was told not to polish the paint, as this will remove the protective coating that was applied.

It is supposed to be Teflon.

The teflon should help with cooking the bacon and eggs on the bonnet on those desert trips.

Like others I too wonder whether I've been diddled with these various 'protections'. Just look at the small print too about having the car inspected once a year and cleaning off bird poop as soon as it lands or you'll invalidate the protection warranty etc. Like window tinting isn't this another thing for the production process or do the car manufacturers have shares in these add-on companies?

The paintwork has various functional layers to it already. The outer clearcoat layer is thick enough to allow normal polishing of your car for years (even the odd minor scratch) without impacting the colour layer.

Typical
My wife has the same product.

For new cars, waxing is better. A proper wax applied correctly puts a barrier on the paint.

Polishing takes a layer off and is best used when the paint has hazed due to oxidation or chemical build up.

Ooohhhh... yes. Excellent thought. Dammit, now I want one.

About to get a towbar and phone kit put in mine soon. This vehicle is just too well suited to South Island, Nz driving, and my photography habit.

Re: What would you change for the next model Territory?

Picked up my Offshore TS last night - unreal car!!!

But the clock!!! It sticks out as the one thing that Ford gave NO thought to. If the Premium ICC had a clock that would help. But how hard would it have been to give the car a standalone clock in the centre of the dash. We're surely talking approx $1-2 in Ford quantities.

Come on Ford - offer an edit to the Premium ICC software so at least we can have clocks in the dash.

Apart from that all I can ask for is the Turbo - that would be the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake.

At least one thing we TX owners can feel smug about is that at least we have the clock on the command centre - there have to be some compensations for being the poor relatives! I do miss having the date and outside temperature from my former GMH cars though.
