Re: What would you change for the next model Territory?

How about creating a DVD owners manual showing the features of the Terri, so the whole family can see the features, and not just the person who picks up the car from the dealer (or the person who does the demos at the dealers). Surely video DVD's are pretty quick and easy to make these days.

If you request a phamphlet (I think online), you will probably get a PC multimedia disk which may help.

Re: What would you change for the next model Territory?

I would change:

1. The dash shape where your left knee is. Mine seems to hit it all the time and after a while (on long trips) can cause some painful rub marks on the knee. The plastic moulding is a little sharp and seems to join at the knee area.

2. The angle of the brake pedal. It seems to be angled funny in that I keep placing my foot on the main metal shaft and part of the pedal.

3. The annoying dust collection mouldings at the rear. After having many wagons, I thought they had fixed this with the BA wagon, and reduced the dust collection. When I got the Territory, dust fell on us on our first trip home. After a wash it looks clean, but when you drive away, muddy water runs out of the mouldings and down the back and looks hidious.

4. The screen door type grill at the front and rear bumpers. Nothing but a great bug catcher that is hard to clean.

5. OK I had to add it, but the CLOCK. I love the digital clock, just not close to the face. Looking in the mirror then going to the clock it hard to readjust your depth of field, especially at night. Just relocate it.

Apart from a few moulding redesigns, I love it.

Got that. They are also available on the net too. I was thinking of something more than just marketing fluff.

I agree, I'd love to buy a DVD that is like a documentary, showing us everything from the ground up.

Re: What would you change for the next model Territory?

Here's another wish - how about dual horns on at least the Ghia version ? The single standard horn is a bit wimpy. Fairmont Ghia's have had dual horns for years, I would have expected it on a Territory Ghia as well. I think I can even see the mounting provisions for it next to the original unit, all I have to do is find out how much an extra horn with mounting plate is...

Re: What would you change for the next model Territory?

I agree about the brake pedal too - I was wondering if that was the cause behind the brake concerns in another recent thread. It feels like there's no stopping power when in fact your foot is pressing on the metal arm that holds the pdeal, not the pedal itself. I'm over 6' so I have the pedal all the way down to the floor, I just need to reposition my size 11 right foot further back on the mat to make sure I hit the pedal.

And of course the clock - how about putting an analog version in front of the top compartment and above the front center vents in that blank piece of dash panel ? If the panel there was the same as the Fiarmont Ghia I would have bought and fitted one by now.

Re: What would you change for the next model Territory?

Another thing is the spare tyre location. I'd prefer if it was inside the car in a tyre well like on normal cars. It is impossible to check the spare tyre pressure with it mounted where it is. If you put it upside down so the tyre valve is accessible it would fill up with sand / mud etc. It would be far better off in the boot IMHO...

This would also fix the problems re damage to the mags etc...

Don't agree if you've had to change the tyre with a full load in the back. It isn't much of a hassle to wind the spare down to check the pressure.
