Just leaves the toggling between 2nd and 3rd - OH how fun! - bring on the 6 speed for that. Even still, when i am driving any tiptronic 4 speed or 6, i NEVER use it.
How is it a waste of time to be able to pick what gear you want. By the same logic 4 speed manuals are a waste of time too as you don't have as many gears to choose from. The problem will be solved soon anyway as the 6 speed isn't too far away. And it doesn't totally lock out 4th as you can select it manually, it only locks out 4th in auto performance mode.

no i think the idea of Tiptronic is a waste of time on a 4 speed.... the regular gear hold is fine cos u dont really use it that often and great its there when u need to, but to shift up and down like a sports car on an SUV with only 4 gears (and really only selecting between 2 and 3) seems a bit of a waste of time to me

Depends where you live.

I have some hills close by, driving through them using the Sequential Sports Shift gives more control over the vehicle without having to use the brakes all the time. It's great fun, give it a go.

Then there is; http://www.ford.com.au/territory/power.asp#

Sequential Sports Shift automatic transmission gives the driver the flexibility to choose either fully automatic gear changes or sporty manual gear selection, depending on personal tastes and driving style.
Edit: I have used all four gears in SSS mode.

Make the rear bar include a pop out cover for a hole for the tow bar to stop these %^&* dealers hacking up brand new cars with sloppy tradesmen (maybe they are not even that :) )

Since this thread is still going, I guess the thing I would really like to change is the Quality controll.
Oh yea. In order to change something it needs to be there in the first place

Smile Re: What would you change for the next model Territory?

OK, after 1000 km in my new TS, my wishlist is as follows:

A clock in the ICC - I hate the position above the mirror (can this be fixed and retro-fitted now? Please?).
Front cupholders that hold at least a 600ml Coke bottle or 500ml water bottle.
Air conditioning vents for the third row
MP3 capability in the stereo (not just in REX3).
Automatic windscreen wipers.
Parking sensors for the front.
Auto up and down on both front windows.
Indicator repeaters on the front mirrors (just because they look cool).
Colour-coded door handles.
Softer interior trim under the dash.
Doors that are easier to close for kids or older people.
Sunglasses holder replaced with one that holds two pairs (it is big enough - why waste the space?)
Five or Six speed auto
Side airbags as well as the curtains
Side airbags for the third row
Stability control on RWD models
More sexy interior trim on the TS - I think the TX's looks better.
Cheaper Sat Nav so I could have justified it to the better half!

Other than that I love it!

There's about 100 people on various Ford forums that bring this up just about every day so its not like its a mystery.
