Re: What would you change for the next model Territory?
-Link the side mirrors with the seat memory in Ghia.
- Autodip option for passenger side mirror when selecting reverse, for all Terri's.
-Get rid of the hard plastic finish on the dash and replace with the softer feel like on the BA.
-Make the center console a tad narrower. I tend to bang my knee on this, as width wise I seem to have less room then the BA Falcon.
-Six speed auto box.
-I would have loved to of been able to option the V8 from the Fairmont.
-Have the option to have the clock displayed on the center display for Ghia models
-Sports steering wheel as standard on Ghia.
-Descent control as standard on AWD models (yes I know this is probably a Mark II feature anyway).
-Good headlights on the Terri, but not quite as good on highbeam as Falcon. Problem seems to be that the lights are modified Falcon units. Doesnt quite work as it should.
-A choice of colour palletes for the interior.
-A more interesting choice of colours for the exterior. Picking a colour was fairly easy for Territory as my wife and I didnt like quite a few of them, but that made the range to choose from very limited. Dont expect to love them all, but there seemed quite a few "love it or loath it" colours in the range. A couple for variety is nice, but there seems to many for Territory.
-Either fit a rear spoiler as standard or modify the rear liftback so dust falling on you isnt a problem after being on dirt roads for a bit.
- Optional larger fuel tank
- Cargo light in side lining that isnt blocked by cargo blind like roof mounted light is.
- Some kind of fold out cover that protects the paint on the top of the rear bumper when loading and unloading. Similar to the option available for the Falcon.
To be fair though, I am very impressed with our Territory. Ford got the car as close to spot on as you can reasonably expect for a first go. What I mention here is really just fine tuning.
Oh and before I forget. Better dealer network that dont have a huge hissy fit and wont service your car (this is Grant McCarroll Ford Armidale), because you dared to buy a car from a dealer who met your expectations on service and price, when buying a new Territory. The kind of crap I got off the dealer principal at Grant McCarroll, puts you off buying a Ford - period. Frankly no amount of improvements to the vehicles will compensate for a lousy dealer network.
It should be top priority as there are too many things being reported wrong with the dealers. If nothing is done, then this will do more to harm the Territorys sales in the long run then any minor quibbles about the car itself.
Regards,
Daniel
