When your ordered yours, did they explain what was different about the side airbag system that allowed them to be put on?
Just was told that the TS and Ghia side steps were made different to cater for side intrusion deployment - whatever that means. I ordered mine via the service manager who is a good friend and he confirmed Q3 - Sept and that Ford Tech said the same thing.

Your dealer is not up to speed, ask him how come the X5 and the Volvo XC90 that have side airbags still allow for side step options.

I would love to have side steps on my Ghia. That would give all the tossers in the school car park something to scratch their doors on when they fling them open without thinking.

babluf,

yeah ive done some research and found a lot of holes in what the dealer was saying, needless to say we will be having a bit of a chat next time we go back to see what else he is not telling us/doesnt know/doesnt want us to know.

Great mate - go get em. It's amazing these sales guys at times don't seem to know thier product or don't care.
